Work Week Word-Tuesday’s Word-”No Man”
“No Man”
John 10:27-30
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
There were various toys that kids wanted when I was growing up. Yes, it was a little before the video game revolution. There were action figures that we played with; some were sports figures and most military men. But there was one particular toy that most young men wanted: the GI Joe action figure. He had a button in his back that moved his arms and legs and you could turn him at the waist. But most importantly, he had a grip that was nobody’s business. The ad said that he could grip something and hold on to it with ease. My brother and I picked one up at a toy store and put him to the test. No matter what we gave this figure, it was able to hold on to it with ease. No matter how we turned it, twisted it, dropped it — it held on to whatever was in it’s grasp. It was to the point that mom was getting mad at us for the other merchandise we were destroying, she told us to put it back on the shelf and we left.
When we come into the knowledge of Jesus and salvation there is a privilege that comes with it. When Jesus calls us, He said we hear His voice and we KNOW and FOLLOW Him. Once we do this, He says then He will give his eternal life and no man can pluck us out of His hands. Our God is just like the GI Joe action figure; no matter what is going on, He has you. No matter how we get turned, twisted, shaken, dropped, etc., He still has us in His grips. There is nothing a man…any man…no man can do to loosen the grip. You remember the story of Job; Satan had everything at his fingertips EXCEPT the life of Job. The deceiver will try to do everything in his power to make you let go, but the Father has a death grip on you. He has it so tight, that no man can take it away. Trouble may come, but no man can take you away. Burdens will upset you, but no man can take you. He may try to seduce you with the materials thing but God’s got a grip…no man can take you.
Keep your trust in Him; soon he will get tired of messing with you and see all the damage he has caused. What do I mean– what damage? He will see how folk have been watching you go through it, but you kept the faith. He will see how you lost all, but you still praise God. He will see that even though you have nothing, you still bless someone with something. He will think to himself and put you back on the shelf…he will understand that no MAN will take you out of God’s hands. I mean, He is the greatest of them all.
