There Is A Reason For This
Romans 8:28

I have heard so many people ask the question, “Why am I going through this” or “Why would He put this on me?” If we only knew what we were asking, I don’t think we would ask those questions anymore. I heard a person say, “the things that I have gone through in the past have made me the person that I am.”  Yet another said, “what I went through was my choice…no one else’s.  Every decision, every twist, every turn was from my decision…I have no one to blame.”  My brothers and sisters, I believe that both people are correct:  the past made us what we are to this point and we made the choices in our life. Something as simple as defying your parents or telling a lie was a choice we made and in turn, whatever consequences came with it was based on us.  However, I want you to think about this…ALL THINGS work together for GOOD. There is a reason for this…

Be it good or bad, you went through it for a purpose. Think about the times you should have been dead, or lost your mind. Think about the times you just missed being hit or even the times you fell in love only to have your heart broken…ALL THINGS work together. Had you rode with that boy from the party, you wouldn’t be reading this email…ALL THINGS WORK…or had you taken the drink from the young man at the club, you may have been locked up or strung out on something…ALL THINGS WORK. Had you married that slickster, would you be happy right now…ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER. I’m telling you there is a reason for this…

For every action there is a reaction. The chain reaction starts from your first decision. The very decision you made as a kid will effect your entire life. For example, if you didn’t clean your room as a child, nine times out of ten, your room wont be clean when you became a pre-teen, young adult and adult. Can you change?  Well of course you can. We all have an out in everything that we do. There is a reason that person came in your life at that point, there is a reason you received that gift from Uncle Jimmy, or a “token of love” from a friend’s parents. Not necessarily that you deserved it, but it worked into God’s scheme of things. That very thing blessed you in a way that you couldn’t imagine. I’m here to tell you that there is a reason for this…

So what you were picked on as a kid…there is a reason for that. You were told that you weren’t going to make it past your 20th birthday, 20 years ago…there is a reason for that. The friend you trusted everything with betrayed you…my God, there is a reason for that. I know we all have gone through and didn’t understand but we have all received a blessing and didn’t understand it either. My friend, there is a reason for this. If you didn’t have the bad, you wouldn’t understand how GOOD you have it…(stop and re-read the last sentence, three times). No one can stop God’s purpose for you, not even you. What God has set to accomplish in your life will come to pass. You can take the easy way or the hard road…but whatever He has for you to do, you will do…

When tough times come, think about the good around the corner. When you bite into the bitterness of life’s troubles, remember the sweetness of the outcome is there as well. Hold fast to the promise and remember, ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER…there is a reason for this…
