Mississippi Mass Choir has blessed us with many, many great gospel songs. This selection is from their 1993 album titled It Remains to Be Seen and includes a powerful story and sermon by Rev. Benjamin Cone, Jr. The musicians play softly in the background as Rev. Benjamin tells the story of Jimmy who had been in accident and in critical condition in the hospital. The story goes that Jimmy met another boy also suffering. I won’t spoil the story for you, so if you have time take a listen. I will share that Rev. Cone leads into a powerful message assuring us that we need only “Raise us your hand” and instructs us that where ever you are right now — whether incarcerated…in the kitchen or in the bedroom — just raise up your hand and make your petition. It’s a simple song with a wonderful message. It’s wonderful to know that I just need raise up my hand. Peace & Blessings to you and yours this day.
