Music Spotlight – Tim Bowman, Jr.

Music Spotlight (Someone You Should Know: Tim Bowman Jr.)

If you don’t know the name, Tim Bowman Jr. you soon will with the release of his debut album ‘Beautiful’, slated to be released on April 24, 2012; this young man is poised to be well on his way to making his mark in the gospel music industry.  But then again, how could he not; jazz musician Tim Bowman Sr. is his father, and Ms. Vickie Winans is his aunt.

We was all introduced to Tim, when he was featured on his Aunt Vickie’s song “Shake Yourself Loose Remix”, and then again on “How I Got Over” scatting. The question then arose, ‘can this boy sing in English?’ (haha).  Ms. Vickie assured us that yes, he can indeed sing in English as well.  When he released his first single and video off his upcoming album entitled “He Will” featuring none other than his Aunt Vickie, we all heard and saw what an incredible talent this young man is.

Spending time on the road as a child with both his father and Aunt Vickie, Tim has had the distinct privilege of watching two of the best in their respective genres, and has honed his skills into what they are today. Tim’s style is a mixture of old and new, along with other genres ranging from alternative to R&B and Reggae.  Even with the blending of all these different styles, the underlying message is the same; it’s all about Jesus Christ.

Tim Sr. executive produced his son’s first project, and Tim himself co wrote half of the songs on the album. Not only he is talented, he is an exceptional young man that is doing his part to bring the message of God to many through song. When he is not singing or writing, he is studying pharmacology back home in Michigan.

Join me in supporting Tim, and his forthcoming album, as he sets out on his own path in music, and all his future endeavors.  He is to be looked at, as a great role model, and an upstanding man in his faith with a bright future in the gospel music industry.
