Ray Charles – America the Beautiful

Ray Charles’ rendition of America the Beautiful is one of the most spiritually filled versions ever to be sung.  I love the part where he sings “I’m talking about America…sweet America (you know) God done shed his grace on thee” — enough said right there.  Even on a day where one might feel you’re in the darkest space of your soul , just remember – GOD DONE SHED HIS GRACE ON THEE.   This song was sang by a man  who after his mother died in 1945, Charles was 15 years old and didn’t return to school.  He lived in Jacksonville with a couple who were friends of his mother. For over a year, he played the piano for bands at the Ritz Theatre in LaVilla, earning $4 a night.  Peace & blessings to all as we enter into the new year.  Main Source: Wikipedia
