A native of Waycross, Georgia, upon becoming an ordained minister Rev. Cone, Jr. settled down in Jackson, Mississippi, with his wife Louise and two children Benjamin III and Audrey. Rev. Cone cheerfully spread the Word of God for more than 30 years, primarily in the South. However, he was privileged to minister throughout the United States, in Japan, in the Caribbean and at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. On his musical ministry, Rev. Cone was Spiritual Advisor to Malaco Records, the Jackson Southernaires, and The William Brothers. He was also the Director of Spiritual Advisors and on-the-road pastor for the Mississippi Mass Choir and Mississippi Children’s Choir.
During the Mississippi Mass Choir’s tour of Terni, Italy, the choir sang for Pope John Paul II. Rev. Cone accompanied the choir and he was privileged to pray for the Pope and the people of Italy. Doors have been opened that have allowed Rev. Cone to speak at the Congressional Black Caucus and the Southern Governor’s Convention. By sharing Christ with people from all walks of life, he conveys that every soul is important to God. Main Source: Malacco Records.
