Albertina Walker – Even Me Lord
Albertina Walker ministers to us in song at Bishop L. Scott’s Hymn’s of the Nation concert. This simple but powerful song reminds us to ask the Lord to let blessings fall down upon us. The blessings are there for us — but so often we don’t take the time to ask that those blessings be showered upon us. Instead we spend our time worrying and fretting — trying to do it all by ourselves.
Albertina Walker allowed God’s blessings to fall down upon her — which is why during her journey she climbed mountains that others dared not even attempt to climb: In the early 1950s Walker founded her own Gospel music group The Caravans; she earned many awards and honors over her six decades of music ministry; Walker co-founded the Gospel Music Workshop of America along with James Cleveland and many, as many other accomplishments during her lifetime. The question presented to us today: Do you believe that blessings can be bestowed upon “Even Me.” Blessings come in many forms (i.e., health, strength to face a problem, comfort, support, and love). Even Me Lord! PEace & Blessing to all this day.
